The AVA is seeking nominations for its Board. Can you join a team of leaders and help to steer the profession in the right direction?
Much has been achieved despite the many challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to our work and lives.
As time fast closes in on Christmas, and the end of 2021, it becomes increasingly apparent to me, not only how fast this year has gone, but also, just how much we, as a profession, have managed to achieve under difficult circumstances, and how much more we can do. 
The New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has developed a range of wildlife treatment resources including Initial Treatment and Care Guidelines and Codes of Practice for wildlife rehabilitators, veterinarians and veterinary nurses dealing with injured, sick or orphaned wildlife.
AVA mentors provide a sounding board, guidance, wisdom, and a safe space for recent graduates to share concerns. Find out why our mentees love about being part of the program.
The issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is something we all need to be aware of and work together to prevent. 
As the world experiences the impacts of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of vaccination for both human health care, and as a way out of the pandemic, is both obvious and necessary.
This month is Mental Health month, and I am excited. Excited because of the feeling, and the feedback that I am receiving from my colleagues, and from the AVA team – the feeling that tells me we are on the cusp of instituting a comprehensive Veterinary Wellness Strategy that will lead the profession toward better mental health and workforce sustainability.
