Q Fever project findings and the importance of vaccination
23 Jan 2019Last year SafeWork NSW carried out awareness project visits in relation to Q Fever in the Veterinary Industry.
The project is now finished, and SafeWork NSW have released the findings and outcomes. For more information on the project, please check out the modified report summary, including a few issues and solutions which were encountered along the way, here.
The documents provided during the project visits in regards to “Preventing Q Fever in Veterinary Clinics” and “Q Fever Notification” can be accessed via links below.
A reminder, it is particularly important for those eligible to be vaccinated against the Q Fever Bacteria. Research has found the risk of contracting Q Fever is becoming greater with the continuing drought conditions within Australia, and the ever-changing and expanding urban growth.
Further Q Fever factsheets and toolkits are also available from NSW Health here.
