The Northern Territory Division represents the AVA on issues relating to animal welfare and veterinary science in the Northern Territory.

The Division Executive Committee plays a vital role in shaping and delivering advocacy, professional support, and engagement for members at a divisional level. The incoming Committee brings a strong mix of experience, passion and commitment to representing members and advancing the veterinary profession.
We are pleased to announce the 2026 NT Division Committee, representing the unique needs and challenges of Northern Territory veterinarians.
The AVA delivered a comprehensive presentation on advocacy efforts in 2024 and key priorities for 2025, highlighting ongoing work to sustain Australia’s veterinary workforce, secure public good funding, and influence legislative reforms. NT Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Rob Williams, also addressed the meeting, expressing a strong interest in further strengthening engagement between the AVA and the NTVB.
Welcome to 2025 everyone! There’s an exciting year ahead and it’s already February! The most exciting event coming up is our NT AVA Conference at the end of the month, 22nd and 23rd of Feb.
