The Western Australian Division is active in lobbying government on issues relating to animal welfare and veterinary practice in Western Australia.

The Division holds an annual conference and trade fair. Educational and social events are also held through the WA Branches.

The Division actively participates in the AVA Graduate Mentor Program, where new graduates are partnered with a volunteer mentor to support them in their first year in practice.

Hello, I am excited to introduce myself as the new President of the Western Australia AVA Division. Whilst I have been on the committee and a representative for the Northern branch for a number of years now, this is definitely a big step for me.
The Division Executive Committee plays a vital role in shaping and delivering advocacy, professional support, and engagement for members at a divisional level. The incoming Committee brings a strong mix of experience, passion and commitment to representing members and advancing the veterinary profession.
The AVA is working alongside government and local partners to support animal welfare during a challenging and evolving situation. While there has been minimal impact on livestock, horses and companion animals, unfortunately, extensive mortality has been confirmed among seabirds and marine species.
We are pleased to introduce the 2026 Western Australia Division Committee, who will continue their advocacy on behalf of the WA veterinary community.
