The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) was not consulted prior to last week’s public announcement of the Victorian Government's intention to merge the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria (VPRBV) into a new Business and Professions Regulator as part of the recommendations in the Silver Review. The AVA has serious concerns in relation to this intention and is liaising with the VPRBV.
From 1 December 2025, new Occupational Health and Safety (Psychological Health) Regulations will come into effect in Victoria and will directly impact veterinary practices across the state.
DEECA has engaged Sapere to develop a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) to remake the Domestic Animal Regulations 2015 (the Regulations) which are due to sunset in November 2025. As part of this process, they would like to collect information about how the Regulations are performing, the costs to your organisation in fulfilling your obligations regarding microchipping and other parts of the Regulations.
