The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) has lodged a formal submission to Racing Queensland (RQ) expressing strong opposition to the proposed veterinary permit system under Australian Rules of Racing AR 2 and new rule AR 104B. The submission was developed by Equine Veterinarians Australia (EVA) with our Advocacy team.

The AVA has submitted a comprehensive response to the draft South Australian Veterinary Services Regulations under the Veterinary Services Act 2023. The AVA broadly supports the intent to modernise the regulatory framework, strengthen public and animal welfare protections, and align with national best practices.

The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) has welcomed the opportunity to provide expert input into the 2025 review of the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. Drawing on the experience of veterinarians working across clinical, research, and community settings, our submission outlines practical reforms to strengthen animal welfare, support responsible pet ownership, and improve community safety.

AVA has provided further written responses to the Inquiry into management of cat populations in NSW hearing questions.

The AVA has made a formal submission to Queensland Health calling for amendments to the Departmental Standard for Secure Storage of S8 Medicines.
