The AVA has been actively advocating for a review of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1936 - legislation that is now almost 90 years old and no longer reflects the modern veterinary profession or its needs.
The AVA is pleased to share the below communication from Biosecurity Queensland regarding the launch of the Priority EAD Sample Transport Subsidy pilot.
The AVA QLD Division is seeking input from members in response to concerns raised about the potential health impacts of fire ant bait ingestion on domestic animals and wildlife in areas of South East Queensland where mass aerial baiting is underway.
The floods across Queensland have had an enormous impact on the community, particularly in primary production areas with significant impacts on cattle, sheep and goats. The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) is working to assist veterinary practices and primary producers as they respond and recover from this flooding disaster.
