The Australian Capital Territory Division represents the AVA on issues relating to animal welfare and veterinary science in the ACT.

We are pleased to announce the members of the 2026 ACT Division Committee, who will continue to guide ACT advocacy and represent member priorities at state and national levels.
The AVA has provided an ACT 2026-27 Pre-Budget submission with 8 recommendations on the 4 key priorities for the veterinary profession.
The ACT Legislative Assembly recently passed a Bill introducing the first set of amendments arising from the recent review of the Veterinary Practice Act.
Veterinarians that may be eligible for government funded vaccines include those who have the potential to be deployed to areas of high JEV concern for prolonged outdoor work.
