The New South Wales Division has 17 branches across the state and represents members in a variety of forums and before members of state parliament.

This week, the AVA welcomed the NSW Government’s response to the Inquiry into Veterinary Workforce Shortages in New South Wales report and recommendations. While we would have liked to see more commitment on timeframes and funding for key recommendations, we look forward to working with the NSW Government to implement recommendations aimed at addressing workforce shortages, mental health, and regulatory reforms.
Spring has officially sprung! So too has our official equine breeding season, and all the lovely warm weather joys - tick paralysis cases, bee stings, snake envenomation and so on. I do hope you are all managing to find some “down time” to balance the hard work.
As the weather warms up, so too do the discussions around the Report released by the Inquiry Committee into the Veterinary Workforce Shortage in NSW. The AVA has been working hard to determine alignment and prioritisation of the report’s recommendations, and we are holding meetings with stakeholders, such as the DPI, to press the issues that are important to our profession.
Illawarra Branch members came together in Wollongong to learn more about "Ocular Emergencies" from Dr Filipe Espinheira.
