A summary of the AVA's advocacy activities for October and November 2022
The AVA has welcomed the passage of the Livestock (Emergency Animal Disease) Amendment Bill in the South Australian Parliament.
Following the Jobs and Skills Summit held in September 2022, the Commonwealth Government is developing a White Paper on Employment. The AVA has made a formal submission to this discussing key issues related to the veterinary profession.
On 7 October 2022, Tropical Vets achieved Employer of Choice Accreditation for their practices at: Tropical Vets Innisfail, Tropical Vets Ayr, Tropical Vets North Shore, Tropical Vets Ingham, Tropical Vets Tully and Tropical Vets Atherton.
Members are invited to submit resolutions for consideration at the 2023 Annual General Meeting. Closing date for submission is Friday 27 January 2023 at 5:00pm (AEDT).
The AVA was represented by Dr Andrea Britton and Dr Sandra Steele at the first Australian Centre for Disease Control consultation workshop, with the aim to provide feedback on a draft consultation paper.
