The Queensland Parliament is consulting on the Bill currently before the House to amend the Animal Care and Protection Act.

The Queensland Veterinary Surgeons Board are consulting with the profession on a new draft Code of Professional Conduct. The AVA is currently preparing a formal submission.

Individuals are encouraged to view, and provide feedback on, the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Standards (Code) Commission February 2022 report.

The AVA is encouraging members to talk local MPs and candidates about the issues facing the veterinary profession at this coming federal election.

Member feedback is sought on the WA Government consultation paper on what should be defined as ‘acts of veterinary medicine’.

The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) invites AVA members to share their thoughts on accreditation standards for entry-level veterinary programs.

There are two amendments that are relevant to the veterinary profession: meloxicam and lidocaine, and we have a working group in place, involving a number of subject matter experts and special interest groups, to develop the AVA and associated special interest group submissions around these amendments. We encourage individual members to comment on these amendments as well by submitting a response on the TGA website.
